Job Description:
Produced Water - SWD Technician Job Description The Produced
Water Technician operates recycling equipment in coordination with
the Operational Control Center (OCC) and Water Coordinators. The
role includes performing routine and preventive maintenance to
maximize the reliability and runtime of recycling infrastructure.
The technician conducts mechanical duties as needed, assists with
major repairs, and communicates daily tasks clearly with OCC, Water
Coordinators, and Water Management personnel. Work may be performed
independently or as part of a team. The position requires
collecting water samples, supporting construction of new
facilities, and responding to unplanned operational conditions
across recycling sites, ponds, Above Ground Storage Tanks (ASTs),
and remote locations. Key Responsibilities Water Operations &
Coordination Ensure recycled water supply and storage are properly
managed to meet scheduled demand (with direction). Coordinate with
Water Coordinators to ensure proper Produced Water Management (PWM)
movements and water delivery to end-user locations. Coordinate
produced influent water supply from Asset Teams (with direction).
Facility & Equipment Operation Operate and manage ASTs, recycling
ponds, tanks, and treatment/processing equipment. Inspect
equipment, walk storage tank perimeters and pipelines, and climb
pit walls or AST stairs for visual verification. Monitor all
pipelines and hoses associated with influent and effluent streams
in reuse/recycling operations. Maintenance & Repair Perform
preventive maintenance, light corrective repairs, and support major
mechanical repairs. Maintain equipment per approved schedules,
generate and complete work orders, and prioritize unexpected
issues. Conduct power washing, equipment cleaning, and general
housekeeping to maintain safe and orderly facilities. Diagnose
problems onsite, replace minor components, and communicate major
repair needs to supervision. Waste Handling & Compliance Ensure
recycling waste including NORM, air quality impacts, and oil skim
is managed correctly (with direction). Adhere to all company HSE
policies and state/local regulations. Use proper lockout/tagout
procedures and required PPE at all times. Sampling, Testing &
Monitoring Learn and apply proper water sampling techniques; read
and use water test equipment. Collect samples of produced water and
recycled effluent as needed. Read and record daily volumes, flow
rates, pressures, and related measurements. Support & Communication
Assist water customers and landowners when needed. Support Control
Room operations by completing manual tasks as required. Communicate
clearly with OCC and field teams regarding daily tasks and facility
conditions. General Responsibilities Maintain tools and equipment
in clean, secure condition. Ensure proper operation, cleanliness,
and security of company vehicles; complete required logs and
mileage reports. Monitor inventory of tools, spare parts, and
supplies; notify supervisor of needs. Remain subject to off-hours
call-outs and provide relief for other employees when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience 1.5
years of experience as a Produced Water Technician III preferred.
Must demonstrate required technical knowledge and skills. Education
& Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate
effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to read and interpret
written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions. Basic math
skills. Ability to communicate effectively over the phone. Basic
computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Valid operator's
