Overview (Scope of Role)

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for supporting the Midland, Michigan Operations site as part of the site Maintenance Organization.

Reporting to the Maintenance Leader, this on-site role will be based in our Midland, MI location.

Activities

--- Achieves the Asset Capability and Asset Mechanical Reliability business objectives.

--- Participates in the facilitation and implementation of the Global Root Cause Investigation Process in all areas where reliabilty capabilities have been identified.

--- Evaluates and quantifies the impact of projects such as the reconfiguration of equipment, adjustments in the design, quality of the equipment etc. on being able to meet the needs of the customer.

--- Evaluates the effectiveness of the individual aspects of the PPM program by mapping the quantitative impact of failure and PPM.

--- Analyzes asset utilization and cost data for the development and prioritization of a list of reliabilty capabilities.

--- Focuses on reliability issues and not on "fire fight" issues.

--- Provides reliability input to Capex projects

--- Develops and implements operating discipline for the benefit of reliability.

--- Participates in reliability network activities.

--- Uses Six Sigma tools and methodology to improve reliability.

--- Assists the PPM Coordinator in setting up the PPM program.

--- Uses reliabilty engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, FMEA) with the aim of increasing asset capability and AMR.

--- Evaluates/validates the impact of actions affecting reliability/availability and leveraged solutions for the business and/or site.

--- Participates, if necessary, in FEL and VIP activities; process simplification, maintenance strategy, reliabilty modeling, etc.

--- Participates in plant condition studies to implement the right actions for maintaining or improving plant condition.

--- Applies the "long term cost of ownership" and reliabilty engineering principles in consultation with discipline teams and technical resource networks so that reliably is included in the purchasing conditions.

--- Provides equipment reliabilty data for the technical resources for the evaluation of the operation of the equipment (MET level 2)

--- Uses the "long term cost of ownership" and reliability engineering principles for the optimization of spare parts stocks in consultation with the MRO function

--- Implement/maintain Business Maintenance and Reliability Stratergy at plant level.

--- Own Plant Maintenance and Spare Part Plan.

--- Oversee plant GMISS/RBI programs w/system provider.

Required Educations, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years' experience working in the chemical manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Reliability Engineering principles.
