There is never a dull moment with us.Job Description/Preferred QualificationsWe seek experienced Mechatronics Engineers with precision motion control experience to join our team working on innovative semiconductor inspection and metrology tools! Candidates must have deep experience in the design and deployment of precision motion systems. Leading candidates will also have knowledge of precision machine design, vibrations, dynamics, and control system modeling. Candidates should enjoy hands-on challenges, teamwork, and delivering great results. This Central Engineering role supports KLA's product divisions and offers growth opportunities in areas beyond controls including test bench development, data analysis and visualization, and finite element analysis.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate and/or lead the design of linear and rotary ultra-precision motion stages.
  • Integrate and improve control hardware and algorithms to achieve performance requirements.
  • Analyze and improve response of dynamic systems.
  • Design and carryout experiments to support product development and model validation.
  • Design, build, and deliver complex mechatronic systems including motion stages, test benches, and other hardware.
  • Use model-based design techniques to create predictive performance models.
  • Document product designs and operations.
  • Specify, document, and procure mechatronics hardware components.
  • Participate and lead design reviews.
  • Help with concept generation, solving problems, and customer concerns.Preferred Qualifications
    • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and fundamentals.
    • Understanding of dynamic system modeling and feedback control systems.
    • Good understanding of engineering tolerances and error budgeting.
    • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks concurrently and with minimal guidance.
    • Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or python to create custom analysis and visualization apps.
    • Experience with CAD.
    • Mentor junior engineers.
