This position functions as a direct care provider to patients on
the Behavioral Health Unit. This includes ongoing assessment of
psychiatric patients, providing specific interventions as directed
by the treatment plan and documenting on the patient's functioning,
progress, and response to interventions. This position functions as
a team member, under the direction of the Registered Nurse and is
responsible for meeting the needs of all types of psychiatric
patients on the Behavioral Health Unit.
Under the direction of a registered nurse:
- (25%)* Provides individual counseling to appropriate patients
using neurobiological and cognitive-behavioral framework and
- (25%)* Utilizes the clinical pathways to complete assessments,
provide interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.

alternatives and relapse prevention.
- (15%)* Takes initiative to provide appropriate activities for
patients when needed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates information accurately and effectively (verbal and
written) to treatment team, to patients, families, and to other

Correctly completes basic care tasks such as obtaining vital signs,

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or
related field or completion within six months of hire or transfer
Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) - Mandatory non-violent crisis
intervention and physical management training (CPI) within 90 days
of hire and updates annually thereafter.
Basic Life Suport (BLS) - BLS is required within 30 days of hire or
