Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 10/27/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours - Employment Type: Travel Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg (Oncology) Location: Midland, MI Start Date: 10/27/2025 Duration: 13 weeks Shift Type: Nights Hours/Day: 12 Shift Notes: 36-hour guarantee Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend On Call Requirements: None Job Summary: This position is on a medical oncology unit consisting of patients with cancer diagnoses, medical step-down patients, and general medical overflow. The RN should have a basic knowledge of the pathophysiology of cancer and be able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients on this unit. Responsibilities: - (30%)* Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician plan of care and accepted nursing standards. - (30%)* Provide direct patient care, including nursing assessment, medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and call lights. - (20%)* Evaluate treatment effectiveness and collaborate with the care team to update the treatment plan based on patient condition and assessments. - (10%)* Process physician/provider orders and perform physician-ordered care accurately and promptly. - (10%)* Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications.
