(AHA) Must-Have: Siemens Experience Description: The essential
functions of this position include, but are not limited to,
performing magnetic resonance imaging on patients utilizing highly
technical equipment and administering contrast materials as
required. Responsibilities include preparing the scan room and
patient for examination. Draw up IV contrast if needed and
administer oral contrast if indicated. Perform a warm-up procedure
on equipment and enter patient data along with appropriate scan
parameters. Review patient data to ensure proper exams and examine
previous exams as needed. Interview and screen patients for
contraindications prior to having an MRI study. Explain the
procedure and answer patient questions for clarity. Transport
patients into the exam room and assist in positioning them
appropriately for their exam. Determine if patients are allergic to
anything and inject the appropriate IV contrast when necessary.
Perform scans with attention to proper positioning and remain alert
for the need for additional or thinner slices/images. Utilize
correct protocols, coils, restraints, and other materials when
scanning. Ensure proper marking in regard to the orientation of the
patient and enter images with a keypad, paying attention to the
order of images. Prepare records for the radiologist and ensure
that all clinical information is complete. Confirm that exam images
are in the correct order and provide additional information as
required.
