Physician Assistant | Surgery - General/Other Location: Lansing, MI Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Join our team as a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Surgery - Cardiovascular and make a meaningful difference in patient care in Lansing, MI. This critical role provides an excellent opportunity to work with a renowned cardiovascular team in a Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting cardiac and vascular surgeons on a flexible, full-time basis. In this position, you will participate in a 4-day, 10-hour workweek, with on-call responsibilities every fourth week, including one weekend per month. The role involves supporting the cardiovascular surgery team through rounding and patient management, primarily focusing on inpatient care without operating room responsibilities. You will manage an estimated 15 patients daily on average, with higher volumes on weekends, ensuring quality care in a fast-paced environment. Required Skills Valid Physician Assistant license and certification in Michigan Prior experience in cardiovascular or surgical inpatient settings preferred Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (Epic system experience preferred) Ability to work independently during weekend shifts and on-call periods Nice to Have Skills Experience with Level 1 Trauma Centers Prior experience managing vascular and ICU patient populations Advanced certifications in cardiovascular or surgical care Bilingual abilities Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular or surgical specialties Familiarity with hospital protocols in high-acuity settings Other Requirements Willingness to work four 10-hour days, including weekends and on-call shifts Travel accommodations including flight, hotel, mileage reimbursement, and rental car will be provided or reimbursed Availability to start on February 1, 2026 This is an outstanding chance to elevate your career in a dynamic environment that values excellence and teamwork.
