Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Per schedule
This position repairs, alters, constructs, modifies, and uses all
acceptable methods and practices to provide routine and
preventative maintenance in a normally acceptable fashion
established by supervision.
(25%)* Works from verbal and written orders, sketches, drawings and
(25%)* Performs programmed and preventative maintenance. Installs,
lubricates and repairs machinery, mechanical, and other
(25%)* Lays out, constructs, alters, repairs buildings and grounds
including, but not limited to, partitions, doors, floors, concrete
forms, plumbing fixtures, etc. using skills in plumbing, masonry,
carpentry, refrigeration and electricity, gardening, yard, and
(25%)* Uses necessary tools, machines and equipment pertinent to
the work performed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be familiar and comply with all governing agencies, i.e.,
JCAHO, MOSHA, Michigan Department of Community Health, Fire
Marshal, codes, regulations and procedures pertaining to the
overall maintenance operation such as refrigeration, building,
electricity, powerhouse, fire, and safety.
Works alone or with more experienced maintenance personnel.
Instructs and/or helps less experienced maintenance personnel.
Lends and is a helper to other maintenance skills as required
Copes with and handles discrepancies and variations from regular
system or procedures, which may occasionally arise.
Performs other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical and computer skills as
normally acquired through completion of high school.
Two (2) years documented experience as a healthcare mechanic
Knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, plumbing,
mechanical, and electrical equipment as normally acquired through
experience, trade, or vocational school and/or established training
Ability to test, operate and repair mechanical and electrical
equipment and systems.
Ability to interpret prints, schematics, specifications, and
