The person in this role will provide administrative support to several Research & Development (R&D) leaders, Fellows as well as to approximately 110 researchers. In addition to supporting R&D Leaders, the person will perform other duties to support department needs. You are comfortable working in a team environment but can also complete tasks independently, supporting several R&D leaders, technical Fellows, and a large group of researchers simultaneously. Your initiative drives you to look for ways to help, even without being asked, and you constantly strive to learn new skills and more efficient ways of working. Finally, and most importantly, you enjoy working with a diverse and high-performing group of colleagues who balance hard work with fun. Also, you can complete or quickly learn each of the following tasks: Provide administrative assistance to several R&D Leaders in Core R&D Chemical Science (CS) in Midland, Michigan by anticipating needs and taking appropriate action to effectively manage daily responsibilities (calendar, travel, organization/preparation/consolidation/coordination of input and activities to meet deadline commitments). Requires a clear understanding and active awareness of the Core R&D Chemical Science organizational structure, activities, and initiatives. Provide administrative support to group members; enter work requests in TRIRIGA, order supplies, manage calendars, arrange meetings, lunches, travel, and expense reports. Serve as primary campus recruiting Admin Focal Point for Chemical Science, working with hiring managers and collaborating with other focal points within R&D. Participate as an active, disciplined team member. Work both independently and in cooperation with other team members to complete projects and assignments in a timely manner. Participate in the Chemical Science Administrative Team to identify, develop, and implement work process improvements across all disciplines. Assist with planning and execution of global meetings and local department events including teleconferencing, Teams meetings, and team building events, including off-site events. Also responsible for finalizing meeting arrangements for on and off-site meetings, assist with agenda preparation, and recording and distributing meeting minutes.Responsible for Onboarding & Offboarding new employees/contractors. Processing and maintaining up-to-date personnel information (distribution lists, building access, office assignment, ordering computers, accessories, phones).Responsible as an Administrative Assistant contact for special assignments, such as safety admin, FileShare, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams management.Effectively network with all admins within R&D (across global business) and local site admin team to meet deadlines, complete projects, implement global work process improvements, share key learnings, and provide back-up support assistance when needed. Continuously develop personal skills in tools and technology used by Dow for business processes (Microsoft 365 suite). Assist the organization by providing guidance on how to best use such tools as they evolve. Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in an administrative position OR An Associate's Degree in Business, Administrative Professional Studies, or equivalent, 4+ years of military experience will be accepted in lieu of Associates.Proficiency in computer use in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Power Point A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.Preferred qualifications High School Diploma or GED and five years of experience in an administrative position OR an Associate's Degree in Business, Administrative Professional Studies or equivalent and 2 years of experience in an Administrative Professional position, 4+ years of military experience will be accepted in lieu of Associates.Experience working with Microsoft 365 tools beyond Office, such as Teams, SharePoint, Power Query, and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) Knowledge of TRIRIGA system Previous experience managing calendars Previous experience handling confidential personnel information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to multi-task Be detailed oriented Strong organizational skills Additional Notes:Relocation is not available for this positionThis position will follow the design your day model.
