Summary



The purpose of this job is to provide the high school student with a positive, on-the-job experience in the healthcare environment in order to better define their health care career goals.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



MidMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Windows. An employee may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MidMichigan Health.









REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:



Must be a current high school student enrolled in the Health Tech Program class through Midland Public Schools. Must submit one professional letter of reference.



Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire if a requirement of the assigned department.



Must have a working knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical, and computer skills as normally acquired through high school courses.



Must be able to work independently, accurately follow directions and possess good organizational skills.



Must have interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals either in person or on the phone.



Must be able to work in a latex environment.



Overall dexterity is required, including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling.



Overall vision is necessary, including depth perception, reading, and close-up work; must have peripheral field of vision.



Hearing and speech are necessary.



Other duties as assigned.







PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:



Must be able to lift 50 lbs



Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering, and feeling.



Ability to handle multiple tasks.



Overall vision is necessary, including reading and close-up work.



Hearing and speech on the phone as well as in person are necessary.



Must be able to communicate verbally in person, on the phone and in wiring.



Must be able to freely move around the department or facility.



Is required to physically aide patients, including lifting.



Frequently position requires regular public contact and decision-making.
