The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity in Information Technology Services (ITS) on the Performance Services team as a Lead Architect Specialist (LAS) located in Midland, MI. Organizational and Strategic Context The Information systems function at Dow has recently realigned into service-themed teams, each with a specific scope of IT services, with accountability for the lifecycle of their services in scope. In alignment with the vision of the IT Strategy for the New Dow, and to ensure consistency of delivery, visibility, measurability and operability of the services across all teams, a unified set of processes, technical capabilities and solutions must be in place. The strategic intent is to deliver such elements (consistency, measurability, visibility, operability) as Predictable services powered by data, automation and insight. The ability to achieve this will depend on having a coherent service management process framework, together with a well understood and managed service, asset, performance, and configuration data architecture, supported with a well understood and managed platform and toolset to support the services delivered by the various teams. Job Summary The Information Technology Services (ITS) Lead Architect Specialist has accountability for technical capability solution design to achieve the vision of a coherent IT service data architecture, platform and toolset. The Lead Architect Specialist is responsible for the design of integrated, workable solutions that meet business and functional stakeholder requirements for Performance Services, address or advance capabilities, needs and/or issues. The LAS is a member of the IT services group and reports to a member of the ITS leadership team, with primary responsibility of the capabilities and solutions supported by the Performance Services team:* Application and infrastructure performance monitoring.* Capacity and availability management.* Application performance optimization.* Problem management.* End-to-end service measurement and visualization. Key Responsibilities:* Responsible for high level functional, technical and/or other capability designs for Performance Services and IT service projects in collaboration with Service Leaders.* Serve as Subject Matter Expert for system architecture for Enterprise Service Management and Performance Services.* Coach and mentor Architect Specialists on best practices, including solution design and value.* Participate in business case development, providing input into benefits and strategic alignment of opportunities utilizing business / functional and subject matter understanding.* Identify and escalate issues to manage risk and ensure on time solution delivery.* Identify and participate in business process continuous improvement opportunities.* Identify opportunities of new capabilities and solutions that have potential process improvements and/or efficiencies in collaboration with Service Leaders. Key Skills & Abilities:* Deep knowledge of IT service management capabilities, tools, platform and data model. Ability to leverage and integrate tools to advance automation, orchestration, analytics and digitalized service management processes.* Understanding of Dow businesses and IT services offered by Information Systems service teams.* Ability to build and foster relationships to drive integration and cross-team decisions.* Ability to motivate, direct and continually develop a committed, motivated and high-performing workforce.* Deep knowledge of the IT Service Management (ITSM) discipline and the ITIL process framework. Required Qualifications:* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.* A minimum of 3 years of relevant IT industry experience is require.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical to success for facilitation and project management roles.* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. Preferred Qualifications:* A degree discipline in IT, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other related discipline is preferred.
