XALT Energy, LLC. specializes in the development and production of
battery cells for heavy duty mobile applications as well as
stationary energy storage systems. We deliver our innovative
products from our highly automated advanced production facility in
Midland, Michigan. At our own R&D center in Auburn Hills,
Michigan, lithium-ion cell technology is continuously developed
based on the latest findings in lithium-ion chemistry.
You support our team as
Vice President, Purchasing
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of supply chain
strategy to support corporate goals including: strategic sourcing
and procurement, demand planning, vendor management, materials
management, distribution, logistics and Sales & Operation Planning
(SIOP)
- Oversee the budget and operating performance, along with key
service quality and cost metrics and focus on continuous
improvement programs
- Lead team performance and execution of supplier visits and
audits, including new supplier identification and vetting
- Provide strategic cross-functional collaboration with Sales,
Operations, Quality, Research & Development and Engineering to
ensure team alignment and execute strategic planning initiatives to
lower cost and achieve higher reliability
- Benchmark and work to understand similar environments in order
to implement best practices including working closely with other
business units i.e., fuel cell
- Lead senior management reviews to monitor core supply chain
performance, including delivering against product and service level
agreements and cost objectives
- Meet or exceed all customer expectations as they relate to
on-time and complete delivery of product
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within
company guidelines as well as import requirements
Qualifications
- M.S. in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics (B.S. acceptable
with sufficient experience); APICS designation preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing
environment
- Minimum of 8 years of supply chain experience
- Strong analytical, financial, and P&L skills
- Experience in multiple supply chain processes, methodologies
such as ERP, JIT, SIOP, Lean and Six Sigma.
- Working knowledge of APQP and PPAP disciplines
- Experience in electric vehicle programs and battery design
and/or integration is strongly preferred
- Experience in designing with a wide range of materials
manufacturing processes, and DFA & DFM disciplines
