specialties. -What You'll Contribute to OHM Advisors The Project
Manager is responsible for a high level of leadership, management,
and coordination of the transportation disciplines, marketing and
business development efforts, and client/project/quality/service
management. Leading transportation design projects with engineers,
technicians, and interns. The successful candidate will be able to
demonstrate an established career in Civil Engineering with
experience in a range of project scopes, from preliminary
engineering and studies to final design/construction documents.
These projects include roadway geometric design, pavement design,
drainage design, utility coordination, green infrastructure,
quantity calculations, and the preparation of construction
documents including plans, specifications, bid documents, and cost
estimates. Projects will require working with a multidisciplinary
team of engineering, planners, and technicians. Your
Responsibilities
- Maintaining team standards and procedures, checking design
calculations, and conducting project QA/QC.
- Support the planning and funding processes by helping with the
development of project scopes and budgets.
- Responsible for managing project task budgets, work plans,
sub-consultants, and schedules.
- Help with the bidding and award process, answer RFIs during
construction, make site visits, and attend construction progress
meetings as needed.
- Solve challenging problems and help advance our clients.
- Supervise engineering team, provide adequate management,
technical advice, support the members of the project team, and
ensure that work is completed as planned and scheduled.
- Initiate and maintain contact with other key project
individuals for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of
critical issues.
- Oversee & direct project production team members and schedule
multiple projects simultaneously. Lead the development of graphic
design packages, proposals, and presentations.
- Document and present work to team & -clients in a clear and
concise manner. What You'll Need to Succeed
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of civil
engineering transportation design experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A master's degree is a
plus.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of
Michigan.
- Experience in business development, marketing, and sales
skills.
- Must have an understanding of MDOT design criteria, standards,
and specifications.
- Experience working on MDOT, MDOT LAP, and/or municipal roadway
projects.
- Experience working with MDOT and Communities, such as Cost and
Scheduling Engineers, County Highway Engineers, City Managers, DPW,
and City/Village Councils.
- Experience with AutoCAD/Civil
3D/MicroStation/Geopak/InRoads/AutoTurn is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Excellent communication and organization skills with a positive
