Job Description:
Description:This position is a part of our Community Engagement
department and will report to an offsite location and requires
Monday - Thursday availability, 12:00 - 3:30 PM. This is a
part-time role that works with the LOOP Program, which provides
elementary and middle school kids a safe, fun place to learn about
themselves and the world around them. LOOP is free in the Grand
Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) and offers academic support (tutoring,
homework assistance, etc.) by certified teachers. The program also
has an array of virtual youth enrichment activities including
recreation, arts, and cultural activities, virtual field trips, and
more. Loop is funded by the 21st Century Grant. The YMCA of Greater
Grand Rapids currently oversees nine Loop site in the GRPS schools.

and volunteers.POSITION SUMMARYThe Site Coordinator supervises
day-to-day operations of the school site and for staff, children,
and parents of the Loop program . This position requires
face-to-face leadership in this program and may involve early
morning and evening responsibilities.Must be available for
programming Monday-Thursday 12:00 - 3:30 PM.PRINCIPAL
ACTIVITIESAssist with implementation of the LOOP program and
activitiesSchedules vendors, field trips and other YMCA Enrichment
programsProvides monthly lesson plans to the Program
DirectorProvides on-site supervision of the programsAssists in
managing licensing foldersMaintains adequate rosters for program
and makes periodic reportsAssists in recruiting, orientating, and
enrolling children/families to the programsConfers with parents
regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment
proceduresConfers with staff regarding child's behavioral or
learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying
inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiencesArranges
medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with
parental instructionsPerforms classroom teaching duties during
absence of LOOP assistant teacherEnsures the safety of all Loop
participants by enforcing safety standards and following emergency
proceduresSwims with children during swim lessonsManages 2-10
program staffCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance
with the Association's policies and applicable lawsAudits
timesheetsAssists with annual performance reviewsSupports the
Association in recruitment of diverse employees and
volunteersPlans, assigns, and directs work; rewards and disciplines
employees; addresses complaints and resolves problemsPerforms any
other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of

and more!Requirements:QualificationsBachelor's Degree or Associates
Degree in Early childhood education, elementary education,
secondary elementary, physical education and recreation, child
development, child guidance/counseling, child psychology, family
studies, social work, or human services and youth REQUIRED; three
to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience. Must be 19 years of age or
older. Past supervision experience preferred. Ability to interact
with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages and lifestyles. Ability
and desire to work with children 5-15 years of age. Working
knowledge of computers and experience with a variety of software
applications. YMCA experience preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES,
